Cross-registration for Non-Sustainability Science Students
MS in Sustainability Science courses require approval by the instructor before a student is permitted to register. Courses are listed in the Directory of Classes as “Approval Required. Please add yourself to the wait list.”
Students interested in any of these courses are required to use the wait list process. Please see below:
Step 1. Add your name to the course waitlist in SSOL. If additional documentation is required, students will be notified by e-mail regarding next steps in the middle of December. You do not need to proactively email the instructors to request permission.
Step 2. Instructors will approve students from the wait list as of January 11th.
Step 3. Students who apply will be notified of the instructor’s decision via e-mail. If a student is selected for the course they will be automatically approved to register for the course from the wait list.
Students register courses via SSOL, with the exception of students from the schools listed below:
- Teachers College – Students must register through the Teachers College registrar. Any Teachers College student admitted into an instructor permission course will be notified by e-mail. Please take this e-mail to the TC registrar as proof of admission.

- Business School – Please e-mail the Business School’s Office of Student Affairs or go in person to 105/111 Uris Hall for cross-registration information and processing.
